Spoiler Alert…
I will be sharing the story, one of a DUST film (https://watchdust.com/) in order for the reader to really understand the power of them as well as to possibly understand why I’m enthralled at this new old genre of sci fi… so here goes.
“Storyline” is creating a conflict between a beautiful alien who knows our character, who is not only beautiful but she is the best friend who will nudge him, the human to do what’s best for him according to his needs like livelihood, money, girls, etc… is there anything else? Hahhhhaa… he lives in an apartment full of all the best AI gadgetry, etc… he visits his father who is brutal, large, maimed during a possible war but has a crutch which he uses against his son for not being the son he wanted… So the drama is set up... we see the obvious story line... it’s animated, music is fantastic… we see a slow process of boy falling in love with cute AI since she is not just cute but has the motherly love and insight of what is good for him, what he needs, who he ought to go out with, “stop eating those pizza drinks,” she will warn him, “stop watching that idiotic program or you won’t be able to get ahead”… everything a good mom would be doing but she’s an AI housed in a sexy form…. so we see this going on… we take our sides… we are rooting for him.. we may even be falling in love with this guidance counselor sexy young woman who pushes him like a mom… wow what’s not to like… He’s too afraid to meet anyone else even though the AI girl can easily get into data bases of eligible young women for him. We also see another scene where the dad is brutal.. (beats the son up at every moment). The dad is human, did I say that?
So they (the AI girl and the protagonist boy) go out on a date so she can teach him manners, etc. and so he can learn more about girls and what they want, etc… some magic is happening beyond both of their controls… He realizes he has feelings for the female robot. He is enjoying himself. She is really enjoying herself…. He is human she is not…. the attraction and intimacy is forming fast…. the scene is at the end of the train ride from the restaurant to his home…. she stays on the train since she for some reason of convenience goes to where she lives with other androids…. and he is looking at the train as it leaves where he is standing with a gizmo in his hand. He looks calm, he looks like he has won, that he has elevated himself to a human now, full of confidence and self love… He pushes the button and the train that she was on explodes bursts into flames. He calmly leaves and heads home to a very happy father. He has proven himself to his father… he has killed what has given him a sense of who he is as an attractive man and a man willing to work on himself via the AI girl…. wow…. a 12 min short episode that unveils the power of the AI in both creativity and dare I say love and a fathers blood line that has its own connections… and I will stop there…… it’s called DUST, the overarching sci-fi “channel” on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7sDT8jZ76VLV1u__krUut). It has 1.63M subscribers... Thanks for reading… some of you sci fi fans will possibly share that it’s the proverbial challenge with the AI super being who knows all and is godlike versus the frail human with all their foibles and contradictions… so be it… thanks for reading..
